Tummy Tuck Palo Alto
An abdominoplasty is designed to tighten the loose skin of the tummy. For those that have lost significant weight it can remove the overhanging skin and reduce the “pooch” in the pubic area. During an abdominoplasty the surgeon will tighten the muscle wall to help flatten the stomach.
The incision typically goes from hip to hip but may be longer if lax skin exists around the sides of the body. The procedure will remove stretch marks that are located below the belly button. In some cases, liposuction will also be performed to improve the trunk silhouette.
In some patients, the laxity of the stomach continues around the trunk to the back. Some of these individuals may also have lax outer thighs and sagging buttocks. In this case, a lower body lift or belt lipectomy may be recommended. In this procedure, the incision is the opposite of the abdominoplasty going from hip to hip around the back. The excision of skin and fat can remove the back roll (belt lipectomy), and if needed also elevate the sagging buttocks and outer thighs (lower body lift). This surgery may be combined with an abdominoplasty and liposuction.
